What is Online Mode in Accord Designer?

One of our programs is behaving unexpectedly on the live plant and I want to watch the step transitions happening in real time from Designer. Is this possible?

Online Mode connects Accord Designer directly to a live Accord Server and PLC, allowing engineers to view the current live state of the process model while in the Designer environment. Useful for monitoring and diagnosing issues while the plant is running, or for verifying that a deployed configuration matches the current PLC state.
