What is an Accord Plan?

I've heard that Plans in Accord can string multiple programs together. We have a full production sequence that runs several programs back to back — is this what Plans are for?

An Accord Plan is a configured sequence of Programs with selectable Recipes. Plans allow Operations Managers to automate the running of multiple programs in a defined order, each potentially with a different recipe. Plans can be run as a single execution or saved as a Template. Plans can also be started from within other Plans (up to 3 levels of nesting).
