What is Accord Designer?

I've been handed the Accord project for our plant and the first thing I need to get familiar with is Designer. What exactly is it and what do you use it for?

Accord Designer is the graphical engineering tool used to develop process models and associated HMI screens. Engineers configure equipment units, devices, programs, steps, interlocks, alarms, PID controllers, and HMI screen layouts. Projects are then deployed from Designer to the PLC via Accord Server.
